Delia’s Hearth – A collection of traditional Irish and original music, many of which reflect life in the Connemara areas of Counties Galway and Mayo.
Delia O’Halloran was the first neighbor I met on my initial visit to Ireland in Rosscahill, Co. Galway on the coast of Loch Corrib. It was my daily routine to visit Delia and share my travel adventures of the day, or I would occasionally chauffer her to Oughterard so she could run errands. She was a very sweet, kind woman. She taught me how to prepare a turf fire in her hearth.Delia passed away in February 2008.I dedicate this album in her memory.
Delia’s Hearth can be purchased by mail. Go to “Recordings” on my website for more information. Albums can also be purchased directly from me at performances or at the Borders in Springfield, MO.
>mach zehnder modulator hard to believe the Muskogee Renaissance Festival begins next weekend, May 2! Time flies when you’re busy.
I have been in the recording studio a lot, in between classes and work. The album is nearly complete! We are mixing and I am trying to complete a new composition I would like to include on this album, “Delia’s Hearth”. It is going to be wonderful!!! I am hoping to have it available for sale sometime during the Muskogee Faire.
I look forward to seeing old friends and making new acquaintances in May. The Faire at the Castle of Muskogee runs for 5 weekends this season! Hope to see you there. Visit www.okcastle.com for more information.
Just letting you know I am back recording. It is still a slow process juggling work and school, but I have a lighter study load this semester. My intent is to have the album ready for the faire in Muskogee, OK. We’ll see how it goes!
It has been a very long time since I last made a post. Work and work and school keep me awefully busy. So many things have been changing in my family. My daughter, Meaghan, and her husband Joe became parents to a son, Aedan, on Oct 15. It’s hard to believe I am a grandma (I will be called Morai=-mo-ree). I visited the wee lad when he was 3 weeks old. He is adorable. Since Meaghan and Joe are serving in the US Coast Guard, they will always be stationed on a coast and will never be close.
And I just learned I have been accepted to the Doctor of Physical Therapy graduate program at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO! I will begin the program August 2009. The three year program will keep me busier than I have ever been. I am thrilled about the journey.
I will be performing again this year for the fund raiser for Just Off Broadway Theater, Ye Holiday Feast. If you live in the Kansas City Area, the feast and entertainment is scheduled for Saturday, Dec 27 from 7:00-10:00pm with dinner beginning at 8:00pm. I am the opening act. Lots of entertainment and great food. Check out their website: www.justoffbroadway.org.
I have every intention of completing my long awaited album before graduate school begins. Hoping to get back to recording soon after the holidays.
I will be performing at the lovely White Hart Renaissance Faire in Hartville, MO again this summer but only on Saturdays as I am attending summer school and my Human Physiology course will be very demanding along with teaching many swimming lessons during the week.
The faire runs for three weekends beginning June 21 – July 6, open Saturdays 10am-7pm and Sundays 10am-6pm.
The following sites have additional information including a map to the site.
This is a test of Nancy’s email notification system; it seems it hasn’t been working and that was probably my fault. There was an update that took place and I didn’t update the notification system! So with that done I am doing a test to see if it works!
1st send looks like it didn’t work – tweaked again. Users might have to login and go to Users / Subscriptions and make sure they are subscribed to NEWS.
The Castle of Muskogee Renaissance Faire begins next week! I look forward to seeing old friends and performing once again. If you live near or not too far from Muskogee, OK, it would be lovely to see you at the faire. Here is their website for more information. www.okcastle.com
It has been an incredibly challenging year and a half since I returned to school. I will have completed 4 semesters (37 credit hours) of school this May. With one more course this summer, I will have completed all of the prerequisites required for entry to a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. I am on the waiting list for Graduate school for this fall, but enrollment is competitive so chances of getting accepted look dim as my prerequisites are not yet complete.
I will post a blog if I will be performing at White Hart Renaissance Faire in Hartville, MO this summer and whether or not I will be at KCRF this fall.
